In the wild, in a zoo or virtually ?
New Zealand's blue, yellow-eyed, and Fiordland crested penguins can be relatively easily viewed in the wild at various sites, mainly around the South and Stewart Islands. To see the other crested penguins is more difficult and a voyage to a subantarctic island is required. New Zealand has few penguins in captivity.

Opportunities to see penguins in the wild also exist in Australia, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Equador, South Africa, Namibia, the Falkland Islands and Antarctica. There are many zoos around the world that have penguins in captivity and I've tried my best to list as many as possible. Some zoos have webcams and I've made a list of these too. If you have any more sites to add then drop me a line.
