Last I heard it was either 2010 in Boston or 2011 in Bristol.  Anyone have any news?

I'm a marine biology major working on my undergrad, also taking various ornithology classes in addition to my requirements. I'm a junior now, and will not quite have graduated at the time of this conference. I've obviously never been, but am planning on attending this one. Are there many people who go that are my age/level (or lack there of) of experience?

Undergraduates are usually rare at these conferences, but welcome nonetheless.  There a usually a mix of folk, from professors to postgrads to conservation workers and lay people.  If you've a passion for penguins and can afford to get there, I'm sure you'll find it most worthwhile.

Thanks! I definately have a passion for penguins, I'm looking into doing an internship at McMurdo Station after I graduate. It is definately my dream to work with penguins someday, and the department at school supplies students funds for these type of educational experiences, so with that, money is not the problem. Have you gone to this before? How do they usually go? (Itinerary, speakers, etc.) Is there a seperate fee for each workshop you attend, or just the registration fee overall?

Sorry, I know I'm a "newbie" here. A fresh egg, definately.

The conferences are typically 5 days long - 4 days of papers/workshops and a field trip mid-week.  There is only usually one session for papers, although more than one workshop might be in session.  The fee usually covers the whole event.

We seek your offers for oral and/or poster presentations for the 7th IPC.

The International Steering Committee will select and group oral and poster presentations to produce themed sessions. We welcome your offers for any and all topics related to penguin biology, physiology, conservation etc. -- it is up to participants to determine the content of the Conference. A call for papers will follow; this call is solely to generate topics.

Please submit your initial proposals for topics to ipcboston@neaq.org by August 31, 2009 to provide the International Steering Committee with some preliminary indications of the potential scope of presentations, etc.. When you offer your oral and/or poster presentations, please let us know if the presentation(s) are to be oral or poster, or both.
